He is an icon in Bangladesh. Known all throughout singularly by his name, repute and historical significance to the movement of the Independence of Bangladesh, he is known to be one of the bearers of history in Bangladesh.
The Chairman came from an upright and highly politically oriented astute family background guided by the basic fundamentals of good educated moral teachings and serve for the betterment of the nation.
He completed his Master’s degree in three different majors (Political Science, Bengali literature and History) from the reputed University of Dhaka with distinction. He is also enrolled as an advocate and a member of Supreme Court Bar Association.
As a student leader in his youth, he led the student bodies and youths at a national level under the auspices of the “Swadhin Bangla Kendrio Chattra Songram Parisad” which had an enormous contribution towards the 1971 Liberation War that saw the birth of Bangladesh.
He has held assignments of the most responsible positions as the Central Committee President of Bangladesh Chatra League, as well as the Founder Secretary General of Bangladesh Jubo League.
He has been elected as the Member of Parliament of the first national assembly of Bangladesh and subsequently, became member of the Bangladesh Constitution formation committee as well as served as the Chairman of various Parliamentary Standing Committees’ from 1973 to 1975. He is currently the convener of Former Chatra League Members Foundation.
